Which paper stock should I choose?

150gsm gloss. A lightweight, vibrant paper with a glossy finish. Ideal for high volume promotional flyers, takeaway menus and marketing handouts.

170gsm silk or matt. A premium smooth paper with a low sheen finish, giving a professional look, excellent readability and rich colour reproduction.

250gsm gloss. A thick, durable glossy stock with a premium feel. Perfect for high impact flyers, product sheets and promotional cards.

Silk and matt cost more to produce than gloss, which is why 170gsm prices above 250gsm despite being the lighter paper. If you are unsure, 150gsm gloss suits most letterbox drops and handouts, and 250gsm gloss is worth the difference when the flyer needs to feel substantial in the hand.

Flyer FAQ's
Which paper is best for flyers?

The order form above offers our three most popular flyer stocks.

150gsm gloss is our most common paper, with the fastest turnaround and the lowest cost.

170gsm silk or matt gives a modern smooth finish with low sheen, which reads better in the hand.

250gsm gloss is a heavier stock for a quality feel.

We also print on bond, recycled silk and recycled uncoated stocks in a range of weights, and anything heavier than 250gsm can be laminated. Those are not in the order form, so call us on 0407 421 254 and we will quote them.

What size flyers?

The order form above covers the three most ordered sizes.

  • DL, 99 x 210mm, one third of an A4 page
  • A5, 148 x 210mm, half of an A4 page
  • A4, 210 x 297mm

We also print A6 postcard size, A3, folded formats such as A4 folded to DL or A3 folded in half, and any custom trim size. Ask us for those.

Can Greenlea help create my artwork?

We provide full graphic design service, which is very cost effective, and not just for printing, but for digital formats as well. We only need the basics about what you want to include, such as text, photos, and logo, and we will create a custom design in the right style for your business. If we are starting from scratch to create this it will usually cost around $50-$100 for artwork which you will then own and can use for e-marketing. If you have your artwork but need it converted from a Canva file or update some details on the artwork we generally won’t charge for this service.

Can I send Canva artwork?

Yes, but it will need some work.

Canva is a great tool for creating your own artwork for flyers and other printed marketing. It is not always to the standard we need for professional printing though, so a few export settings make all the difference.

If you are sending Canva artwork to print, download it as follows:

  • File type: select PDF Print for high resolution, rather than PDF Standard.
  • Colour profile: select CMYK for professional printing. It ensures colour accuracy, whereas RGB is for screen viewing.
  • Crop marks and bleed: enable this so your design extends to the edge of the paper and can be trimmed accurately.
  • Flatten PDF: enable this to merge layers into one, which prevents problems with transparency and fonts.

A bleed is where artwork extends past the edge of the paper, so if the sheet shifts slightly while being trimmed you do not end up with a thin white line where there should be colour. All print artwork needs a minimum of 2mm bleed, so if you are working in Canva, extend your images and background colours beyond the artwork boundary.

To make it faster and easier to get your artwork print ready, share your Canva design with info@greenleaprint.com.au and select Can Edit so we can prepare it for printing. Here are Canva’s instructions for sharing.

How long to print flyers?
